A simple Character (College Work)

Even though I had done something completely different for my final product, I still wanted to do a simple figure of a character. So I shall start off with a sphere and change its segments into 8.

I select the bottom segments with the select tool (After changing the sphere into an editable object) and then extrude the shapes outwards three times to create the neck, the body, and the legs.
This is the basics of a characters body.

Now that there's three segment sections to choose from, I select the one around the neck area and thin it down, and I do the same for the bottom to make a body. Then I select two sides of the body and extrude them outwards to create arms, and do the same for the bottom for legs. Then I add feet to the end.

I decided to add ears to the top of the character, to make it look like a bunny character and then placed a Hyper NURB onto the character to make it smooth.

Doesn't a bunny deserve eyes and a nose?

Dice! (College Work)

I have always wanted to make Dice in 3D, so it was a real honour to try something new with the tools and equipment available. I have always been interested in dice and the ways they work, ever since I was a kid. I would love to animate and create dice of all sizes, types and colours in 3D, but I shall start with a simple, normal dice.

I shall start with a cube selected from the shape tool. From here I will place a Hyper NURB into the object (Cube) itself and make the segments on each side of the cube to 10. This rounds off the edges of the cube to create a dice shape.

Now I add Spheres, also selected from the object's tab, and place them half way into the sides I need the holes to be for the numbers of the Dice. I used a dice side diagram to get the correct numbers on the correct sides.

Grouping each sphere I have used together, I can now place what is called an Boole NURB onto the spheres, which will make the sphere's disappear, but there will be indents of where the spheres once were, making the perfect number indents for a dice. Things do not work just yet as you have to place the cube inside the Boole as well, so the Boole knows where to work.

Now, lets colour in the spheres into a black and the die into a dark cream colour with a slight texture (To create the illusion of a overused dice). I want this effect because my dice which I use for board games, etc. are all wrecked.
