If you click and hold, you can get a verity of choices, but I chose a Cube first, a simple shape. From here, you can select Window and then Materials to be able to make a colour, click and drag into place on the object its self. Also, there are other options you can place on the shape, such as a reflection, making the object seem like it's in a realistic enviroment. Because I knew how to do this I decided to have a go at modifying different shapes, which is the Sphere and the Cone objects you see on the side. Yet, I just changed the colour of the Cone to yellow, putting a small reflection on it, the Sphere I decided to put texture onto. A marble effect, making the sphere look like a Marble.
At the end, clicking the Render button;

Which shows all the changes you have done to your shapes and the enviroment.
